  21.          regression coefficients when predictor variables are

  29.     softRX shareware RXtraces.EXE and PathProj.EXE modules.

  32.     A single numerical example is provided for this demonstration.
  33.     The 7 files with names of the form MPG0.* describe the shrinkage
  34.     path for Hoerl-Kennard "ordinary" ridge regression on a 4-variable
  35.     subset of Hocking's "gasoline mileage" data.

  47.     The RXRG93.ZIP archive contains the complete softRX shareware
  48.     operating systems for RXridge, RXtraces, and PathProj...
  49.  
  50.       RXridge provides a user-friendly text-mode Windows/Menus/Prompts
  51.       interface for normal-theory, maximum-likelihood "shrinkage
  52.       regression" computations (ridge/BLUP/Bayes/Stein) and interactive
  53.       CGA graphics TRACE displays.  RXridge can now handle "exact"
  54.       (numerical) singularities as well as statistically ill-conditioned
  55.       datasets.

  57.       RXtraces makes interactive CGA graphics displays of 5 types of ridge
  58.       TRACES, including estimates of: regression coefficients, scaled mean
  59.       squared errors, excess (ols minus ridge) eigenvalues, inferior
  60.       direction cosines, and the overall shrinkage pattern.  RXtraces is
  61.       ideal for ridge "training" applications in which students simply
  62.       review RXridge or RelaxR outputs across a spectrum of previously-
  63.       computed numerical examples.

  65.       PathProj makes interactive CGA graphics displays of the projection
  66.       of ridge shrinkage path statistics (regression coefficients and
  67.       inferior direction, regressor coordinates) onto any 2-dimensional
  68.       linear subspace (specified via orthogonal direction cosine vectors.)
  69.       Literally "watch" the inferior direction change as you step along
  70.       the ridge shrinkage path!
